The Kyrgyz Republic (KR) has received a grant No. GRH-137-KG from International Development Association (IDA) to implement the Rural Education Project under the Ministry of Education and Science of the KR, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to payments under the contract No. REP/IDA/G/ICB/3/Textbooks development – 01/07.

The Rural Education Project Implementation Unit under the Ministry of Education and Science of KR now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for supply of new textbooks for the following subjects:

• ·  Lot 1: Kyrgyz language the 1st grade for Russian, Uzbek, Tadjik schools
  --Print run: textbooks (45,769), teachers’ guides (4,578)
• ·  Lot 2: Native land study the 1st grade for Kyrgyz, Russian, Uzbek, Tadjik schools
  --Print run: textbooks (112,160), teachers’ guides (11,218)
• ·  Lot 3: English language the 1st grade for Kyrgyz, Russian, Uzbek, Tajik schools
  --Print run: textbooks (104,314), teachers’ guides (10,433)
• ·  Lot 4: History of Kyrgyzstan the 5th grade for Kyrgyz, Russian, Uzbek, Tadjik schools
  --Print run: textbooks (122,318), teachers’ guides (12,233)
• ·  Lot 5: Kyrgyz language the 5th grade for Kyrgyz schools
  --Print run: textbooks (73,484), teachers’ guides (7,349)
• ·  Lot 6: Russian literature the 7th grade for Kyrgyz schools
  --Print run: textbooks (71,676), teachers’ guides (7,168)
• ·  Lot 7: Physics the 7th grade for Kyrgyz, Russian, Uzbek, Tadjik schools
  --Print run: textbooks (114,636), teachers’ guides (11,465)
• ·  Lot 8: Chemistry the 8th grade for Kyrgyz, Russian, Uzbek, Tadjik schools   --Print run: textbooks (117,041), teachers’ guides (11,706)

Textbooks are to be fully delivered within 64 weeks. Bidders may bid for any or all lots. Only bids offering supply and delivery of complete quantities of each lot will be considered. Bids will be evaluated and contracts awarded on each lot or all lots.

Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the office of the PIU of the Rural Education Project under the Ministry of Education and Science and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address below, from 0900 to 1800 hours (Monday-Friday).

A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below as stated in the end of this Invitation and upon payment of a non refundable fee of US$ 25 if the document is picked up at the address below, and of US$ 100 if it is sent by courier plus sent by e-mail. The method of payment will be cash, cashier’s check or through the direct deposit to project account: JCB “Kyrgyzstan” account No. 1030120805330105 SWIFT code KYRS KG 22, Correspondent Bank “American Express Bank Ltd” account No. 748947 SWIFT code AEI BUS 33. The Bidding Documents will be sent by courier services and electronically. The hard copies shall be considered prevailing over the electronic copies. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

Bids must be delivered to the address below at or not later than 1500 hours (local time) on 23 July 2007. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. They will be opened at 1515 hours (local time), in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person, at the same address. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of 2 per cent of the proposal sum or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.

The Republic of Montenegro, has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Montenegro Education Reform Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Procurement of school furniture. The Ministry of Finance, Technical Services Unit now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Delivery of school furniture (desks and chairs), for 23 primary schools in Montenegro.

The bidder shall furnish documentary evidence that it meets the following financial requirement(s):

• ·  Minimum amount of annual turnover in any one of last three years shall be no less than EUR 400,000.
• ·  Minimum amount of liquid assets shall be no less than EUR 150,000.
  
  Experience and Technical Capacity:
• ·  At least three years experience in manufacturing and/or supplying of similar goods
• ·  At least five successfully implemented contracts for similar goods during last seven years.

The delivery period is 28 days.

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.
